TOP TOLL OPERATIONS OFFICER TO RETIRE
IRVINE, Calif.
(April 6, 2006) -- Michael Leahy, Chief Toll Operations Officer of Orange County’s Transportation Corridor Agencies, recently announced his retirement effective April 28, 2006.
Leahy, who joined the TCAs in 1998 as Director of Toll Operations, has served as its Chief Toll Operations Officer since 2003. In this position, Leahy has overseen the day-to-day operations of the Agencies’ 51-mile toll road system. He has directed various contracts for major agency-wide functions such as FasTrak customer service, toll systems, cash operations, toll violations, toll plaza personnel, and toll facilities.
One of Leahy’s major accomplishments was the implementation of the Agencies’ Toll Collection and Revenue Management System, a state-of-the-art computer network that tracks electronic and cash toll transactions on the 241, 261, 133, and 73 Toll Roads. The system currently processes nearly 8 million toll transactions per month.
Prior to the TCAs, Leahy worked for more than 20 years in operations and project management for a public transit agency.
