NEW CHIEF TOLL OPERATIONS OFFICER HIRED
IRVINE, Calif. (June 8, 2006) -- The Transportation Corridor Agencies announced today the appointment of David Armijo as the new Chief Toll Operations Officer of The Toll Roads effective at the end of June.
Armijo will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the 241, 261, and 133 Toll Roads, including toll collection, customer service, toll enforcement, and supervision of toll facilities.
“We are very eager to have Armijo join the Transportation Corridor Agencies,” said Bill Woollett, Chief Executive Officer. “He has demonstrated strong experience in transportation industry, and we look forward to him bringing his experience to The Toll Roads.”
Armijo has 25 years of experience in the transportation industry in Texas, New Mexico and California. Most recently, he served as the General Manager for the Los Angeles County Metropolian Transportation Authority in overseeing the transit bus operations services for the county’s Westside and Central Los Angeles area. Previously, Armijo also served as the Director of Operations at OCTA, where he helped restructure and expand bus service, managed the Authority’s Metrolink commuter rail services, and the county’s taxi administration program.

Armijo succeeds Michael Leahy who retired in April.
