TOLL ROADS WELCOME NEW CHIEF TOLL OPERATIONS OFFICER
James T. Gallagher has 37 years of experience in public transportation in Houston, Washington, D.C. and the Bay Area.

IRVINE, Calif. (May 29, 2008) - James T. Gallagher has joined the Transportation Corridor Agencies as the new Chief Toll Operations Officer. Gallagher is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the 73, 241, 261, and 133 Toll Roads, including toll collection, customer service, toll enforcement, and supervision of toll facilities. He has a strong focus on efficiency and safe operations in the field for customers and employees.

“I think it’s important that people are aware of the Agencies’ services and roadways because they are an important part of the fabric of the county,“ Gallagher said. “We invite everyone to give the Toll Roads a try. We think once people try the roads, they will like what we have to offer. Our services, and the fact that we give drivers an alternative to the congested freeways, can help save time and contribute to better air quality in the region.”

Gallagher has extensive experience in transportation agency operations. Most recently, he served as the Director of Ridership Development at the Metropolitan Transit Authority in Houston. Prior to that, he served as deputy general manager, operations at the Washington Metropolitan Authority in Washington, D.C. and assistant general manager, operations at that Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) in Oakland, Calif. Gallagher holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Rider University.

“I have a very strong customer service orientation. I hope to deepen and improve customer service. I think that’s our number one priority,” Gallagher said.

In an April 2008 customer survey, about 86 percent of respondents rated TCA’s customer service either “outstanding” or “good” and about 88 percent ranked their overall experience using the Toll Roads as “outstanding” or “good.”
