TOLL ATTENDANTS HONORED FOR OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE

IRVINE, Calif. – Sept. 20, 2006 – The Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA), the public agencies responsible for Orange County's 51-mile public toll road system, recently honored seven toll attendants for their dedication to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for the 44,000 cash-paying customers who use Orange County’s  toll roads daily.

This is the sixth year that toll attendants have been honored for their excellent customer service skills. Attendants were also selected based on their on-the-job improvement, willingness to help patrons and fellow employees, outstanding accuracy rates, adherence to policies and procedures, and dedication to the goals and missions of The Toll Roads.

The honorees are:

  • Victoriano Arias of Santa Ana
  • Joel Eggleston of Tustin
  • Taniem Hussain of Rancho Santa Margarita
  • Ryan Martinez of Anaheim
  • Bijan Momtaz of Mission Viejo
  • Lilly Tran of Mission Viejo

Special Recognition

  • Charlotte Cain of Lake Elsinore

“Performing this customer service job has its own rewards, like daily contact with familiar customers and the opportunity to meet new people,” said toll attendant honoree Victoriano Arias.  “Providing customers with good service with a friendly smile is a winning combination that has led to patrons calling me by my first name.  I have built confidence with customers and created a pleasant atmosphere as well.”

Approximately 100 toll attendants and supervisors work at five mainline toll plazas on the 73, 241, 261 and 133 toll roads. System wide, toll attendants collect an average of 16 million tolls and collected nearly $38 million last year.

The toll attendants were selected by Central Parking Corp., which provides TCA with toll plaza staffing services, and were recognized at the September meetings of the boards of directors for the Foothill/Eastern and San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor Agencies.
